Deepening My Journey Into The Unknown
I am finally on the mend. My collarbone is back in place and my infection is improving each day. I had to pause several times in the past week and stop to consider what this process has awakened in me. As it turns out, this lived experience had a number of messages tucked in the lines of the story. First, I was learning to receive and trust others to be there for me. Second, I was learning to trust this journey into the unknown. And finally, I was noticing that my sensitive nature required extra attention during my recovery.
Here’s how it all started for me. I read a post online about how we all need to stop whining and dig deeper. Which lead me to believe that I was whining in my life. Dislocated collarbone and infection, just moved and unable to pack or settle in, and no down time from work in sight. Yet still, I imagined that somehow I wasn’t trying hard enough or doing something right in my life. Isn’t it easy for us to imagine that this is how it works?
The Truth About How Life Really Works
We read so much about the law of attraction and in the end, believe that somehow if we have negative thoughts or go through hard times we are doing something wrong. Nothing could be further from the truth. Here’s a quote I love that has been a great reminder during the past 2 weeks.
“Most of us do not take these situations as teachings. We automatically hate them. We run like crazy. We use all kinds of ways to escape — all addictions stem from this moment when we meet our edge and we just can’t stand it. We feel we have to soften it, pad it with something, and we become addicted to whatever it is that seems to ease the pain.”

When Making The Journey Into The Unknown
Instead, I learned that when life has me hanging by a thread and down on my knees, it is okay to lose faith and let others know that I am struggling. I am fiercely independent and not accustomed to counting on others for much so I was definitely stretched. Fortunately, I have amazing friends and family who stepped up to help me finish packing and move.
And I also have a wise guide who helped me reframe. Her first advice was to slow down and ask each day, what I most needed to get through my day. Some days it was ordering food that I didn’t have to cook. Other days, it was leaving more extra time to rest and just be. Then she reminded me that life is a mystery and even when we do all the right things to create the life we truly love, there are not any guarantees. It helped me give myself a lot of permission to experience what I was experiencing and stop trying so hard to escape the situation.

Brian Zirngible & I will be presenting a #relationship workshop that honors & explores healthy #feminine & #masculine roles, common myths/misunderstandings and pitfalls to avoid in order to grow in our relationships with ourselves and our partners. Our goal is to provide hope, encouragement, and information about how #selfcare is necessary in order to extend love to others. Please share with anyone who you might think would benefit from this workshop. More details & info including price, & #minnesota location to follow very soon! www.brianzirngible.com
Finally, based on feedback from coaching clients, I am launching 2 new coaching offerings.
A new coaching package to help you deepen your self-love and self-acceptance called Become Your Own Beloved. In this 3 month journey, you will learn how to connect with your deepest self and nurture your relationship internally. Instead of constantly searching outside of yourself for validation, approval, appreciation, and other forms of external support…
I am also launching an intensive experience that will help you move the creative project you have been dreaming of from an idea in your head to a reality you speak to life. This special intensive is called Speak Your Creative Project to Life.
